It is getting close to the end of the term and the teachers are making sure that all the students are where they are meant to be. In terms of assignments. This means that they are trying to make sure that all the students have completed all the assignments that the school has set for them by the end of the term. Seeing all of this rushing made me glad that I have been planning my work throughout the year because it has prevented me from going through this rush. I have started to get assignments from the teacher before they are actually set. The reason for this is because it will help me with my assignments. Getting the assignments before they are set means that I can get the work from the teachers before hand. Getting the assignments early means that I can finish the work early. This will allow me to get a draft in early. Getting a draft in early will mean that the teacher can give me feedback on the work. Getting feedback Will allow me to make the changes.
This week I got a letter from my tutor that stated that I am being presented with a special recognition award. I was nominated by the head of I.T. I am using this award as motivation for me because I now believe that if you keep doing the right thing and your not trying to impress anyone the right person would notice you for your hard work.
My plan for next year is to try and complete the units before anyone else in the class. I can do this by going to teachers and asking them about the assignments before they set it or I can go online and get the unit content from the Edexcel BTEC website. There are some limitations to doing the work before it been set by the teacher. For example if I go up to the teacher and ask them about how to meet the criteria they might explain it to me in a quick way because they have not had time to plan the lesson. So they will just explain it off the top of their mind instead of getting the detailed explanation.
Another thing is that if I do the work and it does not include the right things to meet the criteria it means that I will fail because we only have one submission. The only thing I am so to avoid this is to make sure that my teachers read the work as draft instead of a final submission.
In order for me to develop I believe that I need to keep doing the right things without the need for acknowledgement from the head of house. This will help me in the future when I working for a company because it will help me understand that I am doing a good work because that oneWhat I paid to do not I am doing a good job because I want a promotion or a reward. If I just do a good job because that is what I am supposed to do the promotion and the rewards would come after.
